Voorhees residents welcome to attend JCC basketball tournaments

Residents of Voorhees are encouraged to participate in a weekend of hoops and fun for all ages at the Katz JCC’s 9th Annual Eric and Andy Sussman Memorial 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. Funds raised throughout the weekend will be dedicated to various charities, in memory of late JCC members, brothers and basketball lovers Eric and Andy Sussman, both of whom loved playing ball at the JCC.

Cherry Hill East boys swim to yet another sectional title

Though the Cougar boys swim team of Cherry Hill East came up short in the New Jersey Boys Public A state championship against Westfield High School on Sunday, Feb. 23, head coach Joe Cucinotti remains impressed by the resolve and determination of his team.

Pirates of Penzance announced as Eastern High School’s spring musical

The Eastern Regional High School drama club will present the spring musical “Pirates of Penzance” at the high school from March 21 to March 29. Tickets for all shows are $10 for students and senior citizens, and $12 for adults. Tickets for all shows will be available at the school store before and after school, starting March 10 from 7 to 7:30 a.m., and from 2:15 to 3 p.m. Tickets will also be available at the box office, one hour prior to the start of each show.

Seneca High School girls basketball hoping to rise come playoff time

After soaring to a 6-0 start of the season, the Golden Eagles of Seneca High School came back to earth, losing seven of their next nine games. Girls’ basketball head coach Sean Kennevan is hopeful that a roller coaster season will lead to his squad rising at the right time.

Moorestown High School boys swim team continue their season in Perth Amboy on Feb. 19

After a record-breaking season, the Moorestown High School boys swim team will be swimming at the Raritan Bay YMCA in Perth Amboy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The team will face Demarest.

Moorestown Friends School and Moorestown Rotary Club pair up for blood drive, Feb. 20

The annual Moorestown Friends School and Moorestown Rotary American Red Cross Blood Drive will take place on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 1 to 6 p.m. The blood drive will be held in the school’s West Building gym. The blood drive is open to the general public. Appoints can be scheduled online by searching for “Moorestown” at redcrossblood.org. Boating licensing classes, Feb. 25 and 27 at Moorestown Estates

On Tuesday, Feb. 25 and Thursday, Feb. 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m, a “Boat NJ” course will be held at the Brandywine facility at Moorestown Estates, 1205 North Church Street. Adults looking to obtain a New Jersey boating safety certification are welcome to sign up.

Eastern wrestling schedule changes for Feb. 5

The time for the boys’ varsity wrestling match for Eastern High School versus Cherokee High School on Feb. 5 has changed to 5 p.m. The location is still Cherokee High School. The boys’ junior varsity wrestling for the same day has been cancelled.
